Investigation into Sexual Abuse Allegations at Police Athletic League
In recent news, a 27-year-old man named Aaron Gafur was arrested for sexually molesting two young girls while working as a counselor at the Police Athletic League in Queens. The disturbing incidents took place between September 11, 2017, and February 16, 2018, at a facility located on Guy R. Brewer Blvd in southern Jamaica.
Allegations of Sexual Abuse
Gafur, who was approximately 20 years old at the time, allegedly molested the girls through their clothes and pulled them into his lap. One victim reported that he asked, “Does this feel good?” This predatory behavior occurred multiple times and the victims were around 12 and 13 years old.
Despite the girls reporting the abuse when it happened, it took several years for charges to be brought against Gafur. He was ultimately charged with sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child by Queens prosecutors.
Potential for Additional Victims
Authorities are concerned that there may be more victims of Gafur’s sexual abuse. They are urging anyone with information about other potential crimes he may have committed to come forward. The police believe that Gafur could be responsible for additional offenses and are asking for the public’s help in uncovering any further incidents.
If you have any information related to this case or other possible crimes involving Gafur, please contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS. All information provided will be kept confidential.
In conclusion, the investigation into the sexual abuse allegations at the Police Athletic League continues as authorities work to ensure justice for the victims and hold Gafur accountable for his actions.
