Gruesome Discovery Leads Police to Bronx Apartment Complex
On August 5, 2024, a dismembered body was discovered under the Oak Street Bridge in Yonkers, New York. The investigation led police to a Bronx apartment complex where more remains were found. Suspects Caught on Surveillance Video
Video footage obtained by the Daily News captured two individuals pushing shopping carts through the Rogers Place neighborhood shortly before the body was discovered in Yonkers. The suspects were seen rolling bodies from the Mount Vernon West Metro-North station, ultimately leading police to the Bronx apartment where more remains were found. The painstaking process of tracking the suspects’ movements through surveillance video allowed authorities to piece together the disturbing chain of events.
Neighbors React to the Gruesome Discovery
Upon entering the Rogers Place apartment complex, crime scene police found more remains along with a handgun and drug paraphernalia. Despite the shocking discovery, no arrests were made at the scene. Neighbors expressed disbelief at the gruesome events unfolding in their building, with one supervisor noting that in 34 years of working there, he had never encountered such a horrific situation.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to identify the victim and determine the cause of death. The teeth of the victim were reportedly knocked out in an attempt to hinder identification, with some teeth found in the Bronx apartment. Police are still seeking answers in this disturbing case that has shaken both the Yonkers and Bronx communities.
