German Immigrant Fatally Injured Outside Hell’s Kitchen Bar
A tragic incident occurred outside Rudy’s Bar & Grill in Hell’s Kitchen, resulting in the death of German immigrant Florian Oltmann. The 38-year-old lost his life after being punched unconscious by a man on a moped on the sidewalk.
Altercation Leads to Fatal Consequences
Oltmann and a 56-year-old man from Illinois, who was on a business trip, were leaving the bar and heading towards their Uber when they were confronted by the moped rider. A dispute ensued, escalating quickly as the rider punched the older victim in the face, rendering him unconscious. Oltmann bravely attempted to intervene but was also struck in the face, causing him to fall backward and hit his head on the pavement.
The violent altercation left Oltmann gravely injured, and despite medical efforts, he passed away at Bellevue Hospital. The other victim was treated and discharged from Mount Sinai West.
Seeking Justice for the Victims
The suspect fled the scene and is currently being sought by authorities. Described as a black male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall, with his hair tied back in a braid, he was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and black pants with a white stripe.
