According to data from DownDetector, a website that monitors website status, the number of users experiencing issues with Google services spiked on Monday morning. DownDetector only flags incidents when there is a notable increase in reports within a specific timeframe.
Google Cloud Services Affected
A representative from Google Cloud confirmed that there was a disruption in various Google services, including their cloud systems, leading to connectivity problems. The company provided updates on the status of Google Cloud services through a dashboard.
The incident, which began at 6:38 a.m. PT on Monday, was resolved by 8:34 a.m. PT. Google noted that users connecting to GCP services from the UK region may have experienced higher latency and intermittent 500 error rates during the outage.
Users commented on the DownDetector website about their struggles, with some stating that Google pages weren’t loading or that they were unable to use the Chrome browser app.
